Teen Health Center History
In 1985, a group of Galveston physicians opened a clinic near Ball High School to address the health needs of island teens. Community support followed soon after with contributions from the Galveston Independent School District (GISD), the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB), Galveston County Health District (GCHD), and a variety of private foundations.
Teen Health Center has grown from its humble beginning to operating five full time medical clinics located in three school districts in Galveston County. We offer mental health services in many school locations in five districts.
Teen Health Center has been a participating United Way Agency almost since its inception.
