About the Teen Health Center

In 1985, a group of Galveston physicians opened a clinic to address the health needs of island teens. From that beginning, the program has grown and expanded.  Now we have services in schools throughout Galveston County.  In recent years Teen Health Center has provided over 20,000 acute medical and mental health visits to children and youth at school-based clinics.

All our clinics are located in local schools in order to keep students in school, missing as little time as possible while meeting their medical and mental health needs.

Any child, aged 0 – 21 that lives in Galveston County is eligible for Teen Health Center services even if they are not a student.  Children under age 18 must have a signed parental consent form to be seen for any of our services, but once that consent is on file for that year the student can come into one of our clinics at any time.  Patients over 18 can sign their own consent form.
